Article 28 states:

 

Any candidate for the Presidency of the Republic must be…enjoying their civil and political rights, and be at least 35 years of age on polling day. He must know how to fluently write, read and speak the official language.

 

 

Article 31 states:

…If the Presidency is vacant, by resignation, death or definitive impairment, a new election will be held within 60 days at least and 90 days at the most, after a finding of vacancy by the Constitutional Council.
