Article 2, paragraph 1 states:

Elections shall be held on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage in a secret ballot…

 

Article 3, paragraph 1 states:

The right to elect Members of Parliament, a President and Vice President of the Republic shall vest in the Bulgarian citizens who have attained the age of 18 years by Election day, are not interdicted and do not serve a custodial sentence.

Article 10 states:

All elections, and national and local referendums shall be held on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot.

 

Article 42, paragraph 1 states:

Every citizen above the age of 18, with the exception of those placed under judicial interdiction or serving a prison sentence, shall be free to elect state and local authorities and vote in referendums.
