Article 53 states:

A candidate for the office of President of the Republic shall...

  • (b) be of sound mind, …
  • (d) be literate,
  • (e) not have been convicted of an offence involving honesty or moral turpitude.

 

Article 59 states:

The Office of the President of the Republic shall fall vacant in any of the following cases...

  • (c) mental infirmity or physical incapacity as determined by a resolution of the National Legislature adopted by a three-quarters majority of all members.

 

Article 86, subsection 1 states:

A candidate for membership of either Chamber of the National Legislature shall...

  • (c) be of sound mind,
  • (d) be literate,
  • (e) not have been convicted during the previous seven years of an offence involving honesty or moral turpitude.

 

Article 87, subsection 1 states:

Article 120, subsection 3 states:

The President of the Constitutional Court shall not be removed from office except for incapacity or conduct incompatible with his/her status and only upon a decision by the President of the Republic approved by two-thirds of all representatives at the Council of States.

 

Article 131, subsection 2 states:

Justices and Judges may only be removed by an order of the President of the Republic for gross misconduct, incompetence and incapacity in accordance with the law and upon recommendation of the Chief Justice and with approval of the National Judicial Service Commission.

Article 6, subsection 2 states:

Each of the persons stated in subsection (1) [members of the Commission] above shall:- …

  • (e) be of sound mind,
  • (f) be literate, preferably University degree holder at least, or whoever in the status of a Court of Appeal Judge,
  • (g) have not been convicted in the previous seven years of a crime involving honesty or moral turpitude or contravention of the election conduct , even if s/he enjoys amnesty…

 

Article 7, subsection 1 states:

A post in the Commission shall fall vacant for any of the following reasons:- …

  • (c) certified mental infirmity or physical incapacity by an official medical Report…

 

Article 8, subsection 2 states:

The Presidency of the Republic may remove upon a decision thereof the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson or any other member of the Commission from office, for partiality or incapacity related to the functions, powers, and procedures of the Commission, such incapacity or partiality shall be assessed by an investigation committee to be formed by the Chairperson of the Commission or Deputy Chairperson, as the case may be, with the approval of two thirds of the members, from Judges whose grade is not less than Supreme Court Judge, and the decision of such committee shall be raised by the Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson, as the case may be, to the Presidency of the Republic.
