Article 5 states:

Suffrage is universal, equal and secret. It may be direct or indirect. All Togolese nationals of the two sexes, at least eighteen (18) years of age of 18 and enjoying their civil and political rights are electors within the conditions established by the law.

Article 65 states:

In case of a vacancy of the Presidency of the Republic by death, resignation or definitive incapacity, the presidential function is exercised provisionally by the President of the National Assembly…

 

Article 78 states:

The Prime Minister is the head of the Government…He substitutes for, the case arising, the President of the Republic in the presidency of the Councils provided for in Articles 66 and 72 of this Constitution. He assures the interim of the head of the State in case of incapacity for cause of illness or of absence from the national territory…

Article 2 states:

The Republic of Togo assures equality before the law without distinction of origin, race, sex, social condition, or religion.

 

Article 33 states:

The state takes special measures for the handicapped and elderly in the form of shelters and offers protection from social injustice.
